Support for Cristian's Final Journey

Dear family, friends, and friends of friends!

With deep sorrow but unwavering hope in God’s love and mercy, I am opening this fundraiser for Cristian (Chris) to help pay for the final arrangements related to his imminent departure to the Lord.

By God’s providence, I met Cristian and his loving wife Georgiana two year ago, and, ever since, I can say that they have been a ray of sunshine in our lives, allowing us to accompany them on the difficult, at times excruciating, but undoubtedly mysterious journey of coming closer to God through sufferance. Below are just a few words about Cristian, put together by Georgiana:

"There are not enough words to describe a man’s life, when the end is near. Never.

Chris is a very special human being, an interesting person (many would say), but, above all, a kind person, someone that you just want to have around, just because it feels good, without knowing why. As simple as that.

For the past 6 years or so, cancer has been the struggle of our lives. It has shaped our lives and lead us through many struggles and sufferings, but we have also learned about God, love, and life. What a great teacher, suffering is!

Chris discovered cancer in a late stage 4. He did not resent it, he just tried to live with it, and, of course, heal from it (so that he can help heal others - it was a beautiful dream!).

In these 6 years, my brave Chris had many procedures done, too many. Great suffering that cannot be described has broken his body so badly, but never his soul. Amazingly, after cracked bones, brain radiations, and years of treatment, he still smiles and says: “It is going to be alright, trust me!” It is a grace from above. Never angry, never complaining, never giving up, never ever being mad or filled with despair, never once saying: 'Why me?'

Always delicate, careful, ready to learn from everyone, loved by so many, and lovingly giving himself to others. He is not perfect, none of us is, but imperfections fade away when love and suffering take over, and you accept it. For me, he is a hero, a role model, a lesson, and through his way of dealing with pain and sufferance, he is helping others see the truth. 'It is what it is' he would say if he could still talk now.

We are praying and hoping for peace and grace throughout the end, and we are thankful for your prayers and love. Nothing else matters, nothing else is above love. If there is something you can do for us, pray. Pray with love and acceptance, and everything will be alright!"

Cristian and Georgiana have invested all financial means in trying to find a cure, but now God is calling Cristian to Him, to rest forever in His loving arms. As Saint Apostle Paul would say, he has fought the good fight, he has (almost) finished the race.

Please pray for them and help us support them financially by donating to this fund so that the final arrangements for Cristian are decent, and Georgiana can cover the funeral expenses and other subsequent costs in the difficult months after his departure.
