Support for cousin Drew and Cyndi Johnson.

Hi my name is Liz.

I'm seeking support and fundraising for my cousin Drew and Cyndi Johnson. Drew is currently in Home Hospice as of March 4th, 2023. He has end stage COPD and Drew requires assistance with daily activities, including hygiene, ambulating, toileting and safety. Their insurance does not cover a daily caregiver, so his wife and my dear cousin Cyndi is seeking funds to hire someone while she is at work. Even if she were to go out on FMLA, in Texas where they live, FMLA is allowed for Cyndi to take time off, but it is without pay. She has used up all her sick and vacation time to be with Drew. Until she can build additional vacation time, she needs to report to work and struggles knowing that Drew is alone with no assistance. They have countless & mounting medical bills. She had to pay for medical equipment out of pocket as their insurance did not cover these expenses which drained their savings. It's difficult to see these add up.

On top of Drew's health, prior to his prognosis, they were scheduled to finally move to a single-story townhome on 3/25. She does not have the funds to pay for a full move and necessary cleaning fees. She cannot move without help. She received some assistance for their Utility bill which had to be cleared prior to our move for $1500 from the amazing Hospice Austin. But she anticipates many high utility bills, especially with his medical equipment running 24/7 and the weather temperature highs here in Austin, TX.

Drew and Cyndi have been married 32 years, it will be 33 years this August. She hopes to see many more, but unfortunately, his lungs are not cooperating.

Drew has always been kind and considerate to everyone.

Cyndi is now the sole breadwinner for her family and is in desperate need of financial help during these difficult times. Cyndi & Drew have always been willing to give to others, but now they are the ones in need and can use your help. They have a generous and giving heart and we want to extend the same kindness and generosity back to them. We greatly appreciate any assistance you can extend to Drew & Cyndi during this very difficult time.
