Courtney Barnett, my wife of 13 years, has been fighting giant cell bone tumors for as long as we’ve been married. We have two beautiful daughters, ages 14 and 7 who have shown incredible strength and compassion through all of this. Over the years, Courtney has endured three major surgeries—two of them on her spine, where the tumors grew as large as a person’s head and wrapped around her spinal cord. Despite everything, she has always faced each challenge with courage and faith.

Recently, our world changed even more. In December 2025, Courtney suddenly became paralyzed, and doctors still don’t have a clear explanation. For the past two months, she’s been in and out of hospitals and rehab facilities, fighting for her life. She’s survived three blood clots—one in each lung and one in her leg—and developed a severe bedsore that became infected. After being sent home from rehab, the infection worsened, and she had to return to the hospital for surgery to clean the wound. Through it all, Courtney’s spirit and our family’s faith have kept us going, but the challenges keep mounting.

We are a close-knit family, and our daughters have stepped up in ways no child should have to. We are grateful for everything we have and humbled by our current situation. Times are tough, but with God’s grace, we will continue on. I’m not going to ask anyone to give or say what anyone should do, but if you feel led in your heart to help, we would be deeply thankful.
