On Thanksgiving, 11/27, Corey, my partner, suffered a brain aneurysm and a mild stroke. He was admitted to Sharp hospital on 11/28 and has been in the ICU ever since. The doctors performed a coil procedure to address the aneurysm, and initially, we were told he would need to stay in the hospital for about 14 days. Unfortunately, his stay has now stretched into three weeks because he developed cerebral vasospasms—complications that affect the brain’s blood vessels and can trigger another stroke. These vasospasms require constant monitoring, and the uncertainty around his recovery has been incredibly difficult for both of us.
As Corey continues to fight and recover, the financial strain on our household has grown. With no clear discharge date, we are facing mounting hospital bills, as well as everyday expenses like rent and utilities. I am doing everything I can to keep up, but the situation has become overwhelming. We never imagined we would be in a position to ask for help, but right now, we truly need the support of our community.
If you are able to donate, your kindness would mean the world to us. We understand that the holidays can be a challenging time for many, so even if you can’t give, your prayers and positive energy are deeply appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for any support you can offer.
