My name is Rhonda Strickland and I am setting up this to help my son and his wife, Glen and Kendra Strickland. I have wanted to do this for some time, but they really didn’t want to have to ask for help… They now realize how much they really need it.

They learned during pregnancy that Baby Cooper would be born with several issues. Since he was born at the end of October (he is at Children’s Hospital of Atlanta, a/k/a CHOA), he has had a total of 5 surgeries so far, the most recent being open heart surgery yesterday, January 7, 2026, for what is known as tetralogy of Fallot. Everything went as planned during surgery. He was extubated yesterday afternoon, only to have to be re-intubated early this morning due to him having a hard time breathing, and they realized one of his lungs had collapsed. Cooper is now on cardiac arrest protocol. That means he is at a higher risk to go into cardiac arrest. VERY SCARY. He is not maintaining his temperature (at the time of this writing, he is at 94.9°) and he still is holding on to too much CO2, so there has been discussion of him possibly having to go on ECMO.

His mother, my daughter-in-law, Kendra, is nearly at the end of her maternity leave, and due to having two other children (sons, 2 1/2-year-old Conner, and 8-year-old Charlie), my son has been back and forth between their home and Atlanta, and is now working part-time. We help them as much as we can, but, of course, this has become a real hardship and is making it hard to keep up with monthly bills, not to mention all the medical that will NOT be covered by insurance. I am initially setting the goal at $20,000, but I know with all that is going on, they will really need much more than this by the time it’s all said and done.

Prayers for Cooper to recover fully from this heart surgery and get to go home. He still has other surgeries he needs but first, must recover fully from this open heart surgery before they move forward with other things. (He has had a colostomy bag since shortly after he was born.)

They would appreciate ANYTHING you are able to donate… No amount is too small or too big! And they most definitely would appreciate ALL prayers. Please pray for Cooper as well as my son and the rest of the family. This has been an extremely hard 2-1/2 months.

THANK YOU in advance for anything you’re able to give.
