Colton Benjamin Jose, 29, of Pewaukee, WI, passed away unexpectedly on June 25, 2025. Born on October 23, 1995, in Bismarck, North Dakota, Colton spent his first years in Bismarck before moving with his family to Milwaukee in 1997, a place he would come to call home.
A graduate of Sussex-Hamilton High School, Class of 2014, Colton was a hardworking and passionate soul. He began his career at Nelson Brothers Engine Repair, where his love for tinkering and mechanics took root. At the time of his passing, he was employed with Lift Solutions, where he brought his strong work ethic, love of the job, and humor to those around him.
Colton lived life with a full heart. He deeply loved his family, especially his loyal and beloved dog, Oakley, who was truly his best friend. Colton cherished the special bond he shared with his two sisters, and never missed a monthly sibling date night or their treasured sushi outings. His joy was amplified when he was with his nieces and nephew–playing, laughing, and creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Colton had a passion for cars and engines, and especially loved motorcycles—he proudly rode his dad’s Harley Davidson on many long, meditative drives. He also loved chasing open roads and jamming to his favorite tunes in his dad’s Mustang–top down, volume high. Colton also found peace off-road, and loved boating, camping, woodworking, and sitting around a bonfire with his loved ones.
With a one-of-a-kind personality, Colton was known for his infectious laughter, quick wit, and unmatched sense of humor. Sarcasm and dry jokes were his trademarks, but beneath his tough exterior was the biggest teddy bear—a man with a heart as big as his presence. He was generous to a fault, always the first to lend a hand, and the light of any room he entered. Colton had a way of turning strangers into friends and making every gathering one to remember.
Colton is survived by his mother, Cheryl Jose; his sisters, Ciarra (Chad) Cason and Breanna Jose (Justin); his nephew, Logan Cason, and nieces, Brinley and Adalyn Cason. He also leaves behind his childhood best friend, Dan Parry; his beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins; and countless cherished friends who will carry his memory with them.
