Support for Cole: Rebuilding after Stock Show Loss
Donation protected
Cole Blohm is a senior at La Vernia High School. He is a 4.0 student, enrolled in dual credit, OnRamps, AP courses, NHS, and currently ranks 11th overall in his graduating class. In addition to his impressive academic background, Cole is involved in many extracurriculars. He is his school’s FFA historian, placed 2nd at nationals for poultry, has competed in UIL science and current events, sits on the student council, and is the freshmen orientation tour leader.
Cole’s journey with FFA has been one of dedication, hard work, and passion for agriculture. His first and only livestock show was an opportunity he eagerly awaited, but it turned into a devastating setback.
On February 27, 2024, just days before the show, an unexpected AC malfunction struck amidst the crazy end-of-February-in-Texas temperatures, soaring to 85 degrees. Tragically, this led to the loss of 16 of Cole's best broilers, animals he had meticulously cared for and nurtured in preparation for the event.
Months of planning and effort culminated in heartbreak. Due to the loss, Cole was forced to show some of his cull birds and deal with the disappointment of not making a sale. But Cole is not one to give up easily.
Despite this upsetting result, his determination remains unwavering (something we’re all extremely proud of!). He’s ready to bounce back stronger and continue pursuing his passion for agriculture through FFA and beyond as he embarks on the next chapter.
This is where you come in. Your support can help Cole overcome this setback and continue his education journey. Your contributions will assist him in attending Texas A&M in the Fall (to major in Agricultural Sciences). There, he will continue to work in the area of poultry.
Let’s rally around Cole, a dedicated young man with a resilient spirit. Together, we can turn this heartbreaking loss into a story of triumph and ensure that his dreams don’t falter in the face of adversity. Join us in supporting Cole’s educational journey today.
Thank you for your generosity and kindness.
