My name is Niki, and I am raising money for my boyfriend, Cody. Recently, Cody was in a severe motorcycle accident that left him with life-altering injuries: multiple fractures in his fingers, toes, spine, collarbone, and pelvis, along with a broken mandible (lower jaw). His right rib cage was completely crushed, which initially left him with only one functioning lung. During surgery to place plates in his chest, we actually lost Cody, but the incredible medical team was able to bring him back to us. Then, during his recovery, we nearly lost him a second time. He faced 12 hours of critical instability and dangerous blood pressure due to blood loss. After a life-saving transfusion, he finally stabilized. He is now breathing with both lungs again, and we feel truly blessed that he is still here with us today.
The funds raised will help us find a new place to live and cover essential living expenses like rent, food, drinks, and bills for water, trash, phone, and electric. They will also help with transportation costs to and from Cody’s many medical appointments, co-pays for prescriptions and doctor visits, and the ongoing costs of physical therapy, rehabilitation equipment, and appointments.
We are so grateful Cody is still with us, but the road ahead is long and challenging. Any support you can offer—whether through donations or by sharing our story—means the world to us. Thank you for helping Cody on his journey to recovery.
