Life can change in an instant. No one is ever truly prepared for the sudden loss of a loved one, especially right after Christmas-and especially when there is no life insurance in place. Our family is facing the heartbreaking reality of losing my brother, and the financial burden that comes with this has been overwhelming. I am trying to raise enough funds to have my brother cremated and brought home so he can finally be laid to rest with dignity. Bills don’t stop when tragedy strikes, and this loss came completely unexpectedly. My brother was 33 years old and his name was Cody Garren. he had a big heart, a great sense of humor, and so much potential. He genuinely care about people and can make anyone laugh. Yes, he struggled with addiction, but he was still a human being who mattered and deserve care and protection. What happened to him should have never happened. He was neglected while under the care of a rehab rehabilitation center. He was considered property of the state, yet they failed to follow up with him and instead dropped him off at a homeless shelter without proper support. It is heartbreaking and unreal that it just 26 years old, I am having to bury my brother and handle all of this on my own. I am struggling emotionally, mentally, and financially during this unimaginable time.
