Cody, Rosie, and their two young daughters have always been a close-knit, loving family. Recently, their lives were turned upside down by a devastating car accident. Both Cody and Rosie were life flighted to a hospital in Jacksonville, while their daughters, just two and five years old, were admitted to Wolfson’s Children’s Hospital with multiple bone fractures and internal injuries. The girls are expected to make a full recovery and will be released from the hospital far earlier than their parents, but the journey ahead is still daunting.
Cody faces surgery on his wrist and may need multiple surgeries to rebuild his foot, followed by weeks of physical therapy. Rosie suffered the unimaginable loss of her left leg below the knee. Both parents work for Hyatt hotels in downtown Jacksonville, and as members of the service industry, if they’re not working, they’re not making money. The financial strain of lost income, mounting medical expenses, and the need for medical supplies and childcare is overwhelming.
My husband and I are very close to Cody, Rosie, and their family. We live nearby and spend a lot of time together, especially with our little grand-nieces, who mean the world to us. People who know us understand how much we dote on these girls and how deeply we care for this family. We are reaching out to friends, family, and anyone moved by their story to help support them through this incredibly difficult time. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference as they face the long road to recovery. Thank you for your kindness and support.
