Support for Coby
Coby Torda started getting sick in early March and tried to tough it out in home isolation for a while until he went to get tested for the coronavirus. While waiting for results, his condition worsened and he was advised to go to the ER. By that time, he had developed ARDS and had severe pneumonia. He was immediately admitted to Kaiser Moanalua where he was quickly put into a medically-induced coma, intubated and attached to a ventilator. Shortly after being admitted he was diagnosed with COVID-19.
Two months later, Coby is still in the ICU on the ventilator, but has awoken from the coma and is making progress on his long road of recovery. He will have to learn how to do most things all over again and has a lot of rehab ahead of him.
His husband Scotty, the rest of his family, his friends and thousands of prayer warriors across the state and around the world have been in his corner cheering him on since the beginning. Coby is such a fun-loving and generous spirit, always doing things for other people. So we are asking if you can contribute anything towards the cost of Coby’s ongoing long-term care after his discharge. His family has already started converting their home to make it accessible for when Coby comes home.
Any support is welcomed and greatly appreciated, especially prayers and kind words of encouragement. Coby is such a great friend to all. Let’s help him in his time of need.
(All contributions go directly to Coby and his family.)
