Support for Coach Wooden

Donation protected
With Covid restrictions and enrollment down, unfortunately adjunct faculty have taken the brunt of budget cuts this year.  Coach Wooden's adjunct faculty role is threatened with fewer course offerings: She simply hasn't been given enough classes to teach yet her title precludes her from receiving a stipend as football's Strength & Conditioning Coach. We’d like to show Coach Wooden what a valuable asset she is to our program. She has mentored, taught, and inspired thousands of student-athletes through the years and we are humbly asking supporters of the program to come through with a donation for Coach during this transitional time. All contributions will go directly to Coach Wooden, allowing her to bridge the gap with rent/bills during this semester of reduced instructional hours for adjunct faculty.

You can hear her in the weight room and on the sidelines yelling, “LET’S GOOOOOOOO!” exuding all the grit and energy she can possibly muster. Strength & Conditioning Coach Tami Wooden has volunteered her time to the ARC football team for the past 15 years, imparting her wisdom and inspiring the student-athletes to make gains on the field and in life. The team’s success has been a reflection of her consistent focus on improving strength and nutrition, two pillars of the program. Coach Wooden’s career in the classroom as an adjunct faculty member at ARC precludes her from receiving a stipend with the football team, yet she has remained passionate about volunteering as the Strength & Conditioning Coach, putting in tireless hours of lesson planning, training, and traveling with the team.

A Little Background…

The professional approach to strength & conditioning has been foundational to our football team’s success and it’s plain to see that Coach Wooden is at the heart of it. With a Masters Degree in Sports Science, Coach Wooden is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), a Corrective Exercise Specialist, Nutritionist, and also holds certification with USA Weight Lifting.

Tami’s passions of helping others achieve peak performance stems from her own athletic background as a 5-sport letter woman at Fairfield High School, competing in fast-pitch Softball (CA state champions at 15 and represented the USA in Taiwan), Track, Basketball, Volleyball, and Tennis. Coach Wooden later went on to play tennis at the University of Arkansas. Her other athletic pursuits and passions have included bodybuilding, powerlifting, railroad handcar races, and mini triathlons. “I have tried to follow in the footsteps of my family of college athletes, coaches, teachers, and caring souls,” she notes.
