Support for Coach Robbie’s Recovery
Milford High School’s beloved wrestling coach, Robbie Millward, was recently diagnosed with Chiari Malformation—a serious and painful neurological condition where the lower part of the brain is pushed out of the skull and into the spinal canal. To relieve the symptoms, Robbie underwent Posterior Fossa Decompression surgery, a major procedure in which part of his skull was removed to create more space for his brain.
While the surgery was ultimately successful, it was far more complex than originally anticipated. Surgeons discovered that Robbie’s skull was significantly deformed, causing more severe compression of his brain and spinal cord than initially detected. He was originally expected to resume light activity within three weeks, but doctors now estimate it will be at least six weeks before he can even begin moving his neck. The timeline for returning to desk work remains uncertain, as he will likely experience ongoing headaches from overstimulation.
Despite living with symptoms for most of his life, Robbie has always remained positive and inspiring. His passion for life, family, friends, his student athletes, and the sport of wrestling is unmatched. He’s dedicated himself to coaching the MHS wrestling team and mentoring young athletes at Mindset Wrestling. Robbie has been a constant source of strength, encouragement, and support for everyone around him.
Now it’s our turn to support him.
We’re raising funds to help ease the financial burden on Robbie and his fiancée, Eva, so he can focus solely on healing and returning to the work and people he loves. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference.
Thank you for standing with Coach Robbie.
