In 2008, Cliff and his wife Saranne had been married one year.
Cliff was a plumbing contractor and Saranne is a private practice counselor. They also had a passion for horses and working cattle together on their friends ranch.
On one fateful day, a rank cow ran under the front of Cliff’s horse sending him head over heals with the horse landing on top of him. Cliff was rushed to the hospital and while in ER, Cliff was diagnosed with "Compartment Syndrome" which would require emergency surgery. During surgery it was discovered that he had experienced a heart attack in the past.
After recovering from Compartment Syndrome, unfortunately his health slowly began to decline. He went in for emergency "Quadruple Bypass Surgery" that resulted in him being in a coma for nine days. Saranne was by his side consistently and praying for hours everyday.
In 2014, Cliff's pacemaker/defibrillator after his bypass surgery started firing once every few months to once a month or more. He began having debilitating arrhythmias on a regular basis throughout the day. With no health insurance, the medical community offered little hope. Needless to say, the financial burden has been devastating and the debt grew and the struggles continued.
In 2015, by divine appointment, a heart transplant recipient changed their life. Cliff spent most of that year going through the rigorous process of becoming a heart transplant recipient. Finally, hope arrived and the future looked positive when he was placed on the heart transplant list.
On April 25, 2016 Cliff was admitted into the hospital to wait for his heart transplant. He didn't know it then but he would wait seven long months! He waited longer than anyone has in that system.
On November 19, 2016 Cliff and Saranne got the call they had been waiting for, a heart had become available and it was a perfect match!
The surgery moved forward successfully, unfortunately the long wait and dangerous medicines had taken its toll on Cliff's body. His new heart would not beat and he did not survive the surgery.
Saranne has been left devastated by the death of her loving husband and best friend. Presently, she is in an emotional and financial upheaval. Although she has continued to work full time at her private practice during Cliff’s illness and death, she cannot make up the financial loss.
Please help us support Saranne prayerfully and financially in her time of profound loss.
A sincere thank you from our hearts.
