Help Clay During His Life-Changing Surgery
Hi, my name is Jane, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my 24-year-old son, Clay. He recently got married and is navigating the early stages of building a life with his wonderful wife. Unfortunately, Clay is facing significant medical challenges that have become both physically and financially overwhelming.
Clay was born with a genetic condition called Familial Adenomatous Polyposis (FAP). This syndrome can cause numerous complications, including the development of polyps in the colon. Without treatment, FAP carries a 100% chance of developing colon cancer, which is why Clay must undergo a major surgery on December 5 to have his colon removed.
This is not his first battle with FAP. Clay had to undergo a craniotomy to address growths on his head caused by this condition. While that surgery was complex, the upcoming procedure is far more involved and requires a significantly longer healing time. He’ll be out of work for at least a month, though it could be longer, depending on his recovery. Clay has already missed work for pre-surgery appointments and a recent illness, adding to the financial strain.
Clay is doing his best to stay strong and positive, but this situation has been incredibly hard on him. That’s why I’m here, asking for your help. I’m not asking for a handout for Clay but a hand up. Your support will help cover medical bills, living expenses during his recovery, travel costs to Johns Hopkins, and ease the financial burden so Clay can focus on healing.
If you’re able to donate, any amount would mean the world to us. And if you’re unable to contribute financially, your prayers and positive thoughts are equally valued and deeply appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to read Clay’s story. Every bit of kindness and generosity makes a difference, and we are so grateful for your support during this challenging time.
With gratitude,
Jane
