Our dear colleague and friend Cindy Santes is facing a heartbreaking and overwhelming time. Earlier this year, her mother was diagnosed with stage 4 uterine carcinoma and endured several hospital stays before receiving a full diagnosis in April. Sadly, she passed away in May.

Cindy is an only child and a first-generation American with no immediate family support. Her mother immigrated from Nicaragua and raised Cindy on her own. Now, Cindy is navigating the emotional pain of this tremendous loss while also shouldering the full financial burden, including funeral expenses, legal and probate fees, and responsibilities related to her mother’s home and car.
