Support for Cian

Hi my name Anthony Lillis, I’ve been running The Galleon Inn pub for the last 15 years. Good friends of mine Caoimhe McKiernan and Ethan Feeley’s baby boy Cian was diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer when he was only 4 months old.

Starting in November 2023 Cian began a 9 round course of intense chemotherapy and finished this course in March 2024.

In April of this year Cian was brought into a 10 hour surgery with the aim of removing the tumour from his jawbone. The surgeons had to remove his entire jaw bone and subsequently had to use two of his ribs to reconstruct his lower jaw. The operation was a success, the cancer was removed with clear margins however Cians healing process has been slow and required a long stay in hospital with multiple revisits to the operating theatre.

While Cian is now on the right side of his journey he still has a long, demanding road ahead of him. He will require a significant amount of checkups and surgeries along the way to extend and strengthen his lower jaw as he continues to grow. This will result in a lot of time and expenses spent in Dublin for Cian and his family.
