My Name is Novelet, I currently reside in N Andover Massachusetts. I am raising funds for the people that attend the church that I attended while I lived in Jamaica to help them rebuild after the hurricane.

When Hurricane Melissa tore through Jamaica and the hometown that I came from, it didn’t just shake the walls of houses—it shook the hearts of the people that I know personally, who have always stood together as a community. In the storm’s aftermath, the devastation in the place I once lived, which I've always called home, I learned that our neighbors are now staring up at open skies where their roofs once were. During the storm, when the roofs tore off, mothers tried to keep their children dry with tarps that barely held. Elderly residents now sit quietly on porches, unsure how they would ever start to rebuild.

What struck me most wasn’t the devastation—it was their spirits. Even with so much lost and so little left, people were helping one another clear debris, sharing food, and offering shelter. But goodwill alone can’t replace their roofs.

That’s why I’m reaching out.

There is an urgent need to raise funds so families in my local community can begin putting their homes back together. A safe roof means a safe night’s sleep, protection from the elements, and the first step toward normal life again. My hope is to gather as much support as possible so we can extend help to as many households still exposed to the wind and rain.

Every contribution—big or small—brings us closer to restoring not just homes, but hope. Together, we can help our community rise after the storm.
