Hello, my name is Melinda, but most people know me as "Mel". My sisters (Ashley, Emily, Brittney and Megan), brother (Michael) and I just lost our loving father and our children, their grandfather. He was 67 years old. He passed away after he was taken off machines on the early morning of Saturday, October 25, 2025, after his battles with Cancer and Pneumonia. We are asking for donations to cover the costs of his funeral, burial and Celebration of Life to give him one last walk in the woods. Anything helps, just a simple share will do.
You see, our dad, Charlie "Chuck" "Chucky" William Fields was born on March 24, 1958 and he was the most kind, loving, caring, soul. So much so, that he would give you the literal shirt off his back and the very last dollar he had to his name. He hardly ever said the word " no", as I'm quite sure he didn't really understand the meaning of it. That's how seldom it was used. He was always ready to step in and help, some way, some how.
He was the embodiment of "The Duke", John Wayne. He absolutely loved John Wayne and his Westerns. He loved hiking, fishing, hunting and being outdoors, surrounded by nature. He was such a walking contradiction haha. He liked to hunt, but felt bad about the killing and skinning of the animal in question. He was just that good of a person, I guess. He also loved himself a good ol' cup of coffee, specifically the ones he had in the mornings. The sun would just be coming up, the steam radiating from his cup, WCYB News Center 5 would be on the TV giving him his daily weather and news updates, the birds would be chirping and his children and grandchildren would be asleep in their beds. Him sitting in his chair, cross-legged, listening to their breath softly rising and falling. Because there's nowhere else he'd rather be. Of course, other than now, where he's hopefully resting peacefully with our mother.
There's no questioning whether or not he loved his friends and family. WE ALL know he loved us UNCONDITIONALLY!! Just as we love him!! No light could shine or burn brighter than the one that Chuck Fields emitted! You were NEVER a stranger in his eyes! Just a friend Jesus sent his way that he wanted him to get better acquainted with...that's why as sad as his sudden, unexpected passing is, we can't help but smile and laugh at how wonderful of a person he truly was. His life is so much worth celebrating!! I can only hope that I can give off as much joy and compassion as this man did in his life. Thank you, dad, for shaping me into the weird and goofy loser I am today! I wouldn't wanna be anyone else! WE LOVE YOU!!!!
So again, if Charlie "Chuck" Fields has EVER touched your life in some way, shape or form at some point, please donate if you can. Or, just simply click "share". Not for our sake's, but for his. He deserves one heck of a Celebration of Life! And remember, he ABSOLUTELY LOVED YOU!!!! Thank you!!
