Christy is the kind of person who lights up every room with her positivity and sense of humor. Recently, she went to urgent care thinking she might be having a stroke, but after many tests, she received the devastating news that she has cancer. They also just received news that the cancer has already mutated and spread to her liver, lymph nodes, and brain. Central Maine Medical has taken her into their care, and she has already begun daily treatments, starting with her brain.

Christy is a devoted mother to five children. While her three oldest are young adults finding their own way, her two youngest, Ruthie (9) and Lucas (7), both require a lot of attention and care. The family’s world has been turned upside down. Christy is currently on leave from her job at Howell Laboratories Inc due to the daily doctor appointments and the toll that treatment is taking on her body. Her husband of 3 years, Howard, is also on leave as a Patrol Deputy for the Cumberland County Sheriff's Department for the town of Naples, Maine, so he can be by her side every step of the way. They are now waiting on further testing to see if Christy will need to travel to Boston for more intensive treatment.
