Support for Chris Barney Sr.'s Final Journey

Dearest Family and friends,

Our lives were forever changed on July 11, 2025 with the heartbreaking loss of my father, Christopher Barney Sr. There are no words to truly express the depth of our grief right now. Several family members were by his side at the hospital during the last few days of his life. Our family would like our dearly departed to be laid to rest with his mother, oldest sister and 2 nieces.

Many of the stories shared at the hospital by his family included how he always found a way to make you laugh by being silly. We smiled, we laughed, yet cried at the same time. But we cried because we love him and could not ignore the pain we were all experiencing. His sisters, daughters, and nieces all admitted it was my father that taught everyone so many different card games. Boy, did he love playing cards. A physical deck of cards was always near by. He never was one to play any games or watch videos on a phone or tablet, unless someone passed him a device to see or watch something.

When someone needed help, he did not have the funds to give, but my dad would help in person any way he could. From cooking, he loved to cook, to cleaning, to babysitting his nieces and nephews, to yard work and so on and so on. Nothing was too hard for him to help.

Christopher leaves behind two daughters, two sons, and 9 grandchildren who loved him more than anything. The grand kids will miss their Papa. Others deeply affected by the tragic passing of my father are his: father, step mom, 4 sisters, 3 brothers, many nieces & nephews, cousins, extended family and close friends.

In this sudden time of immense sorrow and unexpected financial strain we find ourselves creating this GoFundMe, our family is humbly asking for your support. This will help cover funeral services, which includes transporting my father from Central Arizona (Maricopa) to Northern Arizona (St. Michael's) to his final resting place, the reception, and any other expenses that may arise. Any monetary donations, no matter the size, would be a blessing and alleviate some of the burden we are carrying. If you are not able to give, we ask that you please share our little campaign.
