UPDATE : My loving and beautiful aunt has passed.
My name is Macy, and I am creating this fundraiser on behalf of my aunt, Christine. To our family, she was always so much more than an aunt she has been a second mother to me, my brothers, and even many of our friends. Since we never had the opportunity to meet our grandmother, Aunt filled that space with love, guidance, and protection. She became our grandmother figure, our comfort, and our constant.
Our hearts have been especially heavy since losing my mom, her baby sister, in May of last year after a 26‑year battle with cancer. After that heartbreaking loss, a lot in my aunt changed. Her health began declining rapidly, and these last few months have been extremely difficult as I’ve cared for her day by day while watching her struggle more and more.
Three years ago, she suffered a seizure inside a store, fell, and hit her head. Her brain swelled, and she was placed on life support for lil more than three months. We prayed without ceasing, unsure if she would survive, but in true Christine's fashion, she fought her way back.
During that same time, she was on life support, her life insurance policy collapsed, and I wasn't aware until recently, while cleaning her apartment out.
Since then, it has been an up‑and‑down journey filled with hospital visits, emergency stays, and ongoing health challenges.
A few days ago, I received even more devastating news. I learned she has lung cancer and has had it for the last two years without any of us knowing. Because of this diagnosis, she can no longer qualify for a new policy.
Upon learning of her lung cancer, her doctors just placed her on hospice care, keeping her as comfortable as possible with the days we have left with her. This has been one of the second hardest realities i have ever had to accept, while still grieving the loss of my mom.
She also has one brother left, who is dealing with serious health issues of his own, leaving our family stretched thin emotionally, physically, and financially.
Anyone who knows Aunt Christine knows what a blessing she has been to so many people. She has always shown up for others. She would give the shirt off her back, cook for anyone in need, open her home to family and strangers alike, and still have that fiery, loving personality that everyone adored. She has touched more lives than we can ever count.
I am humbly asking for support with funeral arrangements and final expenses, so I can give her the respectful, dignified service she deserves. This support will help ease the emotional and financial weight during a time when I have been doing everything I can with very limited resources.
Please keep my uncle, and our family in your prayers as we walk through this painful chapter. We truly believe in the power of community, love, and support.
Your support means more than words can express. Whether you donate, share, or simply pray for our family, please know we are truly grateful. Thank you for helping us honor the life of someone who gave so much to everyone she met. I have also attached my cash app information below. THIS IS THE ONLY GO-FUND WE HAVE!
