My husband Chris has been in the ICU for three weeks after suffering two heart attacks in just five days. Because of the complexity of his medical needs, he now has to be moved to a hospital two hours away that can provide the specialized care he needs. Chris has been sedated most of the time and is unaware of how long he has been in the hospital. This has been an incredibly difficult and emotional time for us, and I am doing my best to stay strong for him and our family.
With Chris unable to work and me needing to cut back hours at my second job to be with him, making ends meet has become impossible. The costs of traveling back and forth to the new hospital, along with everyday expenses, are piling up quickly. I want to be by Chris’s side as much as possible, but the financial strain is making it harder every day. I don’t have the resources left to make the two-hour drive multiple times a week or to stay near the hospital when needed.
We are grateful for any help that comes our way. Your support would mean the world to our family during this challenging time. Thank you for considering helping us keep our family together and giving Chris the best chance at recovery.
