Support for Chris & Susan Armstrong

Donation protected
As many of you already know on October 10th, 2018, Susan Armstrong’s life changed forever when she suffered a major stroke. As with many acquired brain injuries, her recovery has been slow, unpredictable, and incredibly challenging. Although she has made small but meaningful improvements, the daily reality has required significant adjustments and ongoing support to care for her.

On November 25th (2025), life dealt this family another devastating blow. Chris was involved in a tragic workplace accident when a piece of Hardi panel fell from 40 feet above, breaking his vertebrae and compressing his spine which have left him paralyzed. He is currently in the ICU at Vancouver General Hospital as doctors work to determine the full extent of his injuries. What is already clear is that Chris faces a long and difficult road ahead.

This is a heartbreaking situation for a family who has already endured so much. Chris has been the primary caregiver and support for both Susan and their daughter, Janelle who is special needs as well. Even before the accident, there were major limitations on what Susan and Janelle could manage on their own while Chris worked away on the Sunshine Coast. Now, with Chris facing extensive rehabilitation and an uncertain future, the need for support is greater than ever.

How the Funds Will Help

Donations will be used to provide essential support services, care resources, and day-to-day assistance for Susan and Janelle. These funds will help ensure they can continue to function safely and sustainably while Chris begins his long journey through recovery and rehabilitation.

This family is facing circumstances no one could ever prepare for. Any contribution—big or small—will make a meaningful difference in helping them navigate the immense challenges ahead.

Thank you for your support, your kindness, and your prayers for Chris, Susan, and Janelle during this unimaginable time.

We will continue to do our best to update this page as things progress however if you wish to send Chris and Sue messages directly we have created an email for you to contact them. Please note that both of them are limited in thier ability to respond however we will ensure they receive all your kind words and support.
