My beloved and precious cousin Chris Barr came home from the hospital on May 6, 2026 and is in the care of Hospice.
Last May, my cousin Chris Barr, age 52, and his precious wife Jeanie received news that changed their lives forever. What began as a hopeful search for answers led to surgery in July—only for doctors to open him up and immediately close him back. They were given the words no family ever wants to hear: Stage 4 cancer.
Chris and Jeanie are the primary caregivers for their two blind grandsons and their 18 month old granddaughter. Chris has always been the sole provider for his family—a man deeply loved, respected, and cherished. His illness has brought tremendous emotional and financial hardship to everyone who loves him.
As we walk through this heartbreaking season, the family is now facing significant upcoming funeral and burial expenses. We are humbly asking for prayers, support, and assistance from family, friends, churches, and our community. Every contribution—no matter the amount—will go directly toward Chris’s funeral and burial arrangements.
If you are unable to give financially, we sincerely ask for your prayers—for peace, strength, and comfort for Chris’s family during this incredibly difficult time.
The family and I want to extend our deepest gratitude for every act of kindness, every prayer lifted, and every expression of love shown. Your support means more than words can express.
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” – Matthew 5:4
