Chip passed away suddenly, leaving our family heartbroken and completely unprepared for this loss. To many, he was affectionately known as “Grandpa,” and although we were not connected by blood, he was truly ours in every way that mattered. He was family.

Chip had a way of becoming a part of every space he entered. He was any and everywhere with us, so anyone who has spent time around our family likely knew him too. He made us laugh, showed up without hesitation, checked on us, and took such good care of all of us in ways both big and small. His presence was constant, comforting, and full of love. The silence left behind by his absence is something we are still trying to process. He will be deeply and painfully missed.

This loss has also brought unexpected financial challenges as we try to give him the proper homegoing he deserves. Most people never even realized Chip was not our biological relative because of how deeply woven he was into our lives and hearts. We loved him as our own, and we want to honor him with the same love, dignity, and care he gave so freely to others.
