My grandma and I just met a lady in Chinatown who has been selling zongzi (sticky rice dumplings) for over 10 years. Unfortunately she took a pretty bad fall, so last month she wasn’t able to sell at all. She now needs to use a cane to get around and needs the money more than she has before, so she still tries to get out everyday to sell her zongzi even though she’s still in pain.
We wanted to start this GoFundMe to hopefully take a little pressure off her shoulders while she continues to recover. Our hope is that she can focus more on healing without feeling like she has to push through the pain every single day just to make ends meet.
100% of the money raised will go directly to her. No amount is too small — even a few dollars from enough people can really make a difference.
If you aren’t able to donate, sharing her story would mean just as much to us.
She is an incredibly sweet and hard-working lady who has spent years serving her community. Por Por and I would love for our community to come together and return some of that love.
Hopefully, together we can give her a little peace of mind while she gets back on her feet. ❤️
