Our primary goal is to raise support for children in the area so that they can get help for school fees, food, clothing and housing when needed.
We, Hallgeir and Diana, are happy to know that Margaret Gitonga does the best for children and her community, so we see her as a great contact in order to help development in this poor area of Kenya called Kiboya. She keeps up the dedicated work that Hallgeir first observed when visiting back in 2013 and 2014. We want to help her develop the children home called Primax Care C.B.O. in order to mean a difference for more in need.
Currently 50 children and teenagers are supported, but the first goal is to help 32 more that needs support to pay their school fees and many of them are orphans who also needs a home. The Primax home can house more children, but it is also in need of improvements.
We have made a list of priorities and different categories that are shown on our Facebook page. There are big needs, but please let us know if you want to give a specific donation to for example a certain child who is unable to pay school fees (starting at 150 US Dollars per year at the local public primary school), if you would like to develop the children home or pay salary for a new teacher in the local public school (where 8 teachers are currently teaching around 320 children, but another teacher may be hired if we can collect the yearly salary of around 3000 US Dollars).
We look forward to follow up this project til we fly out from Nairobi the 4th of March 2020 this time, but will keep supporting it and return several times. You are also more than welcome to visit the children home if you get the chance, the hospitality here is wonderful despite limited resources!
The page is established through Hallgeir's personal information because Kenya is not an accepted country by Gofundme while Norway is. Thus, a new Norwegian bank account is established for Primax Care and all donations will be transferred to Primax Care's account in Kenya and priorities will be clarified in advance.
Currently 1 US dollar is worth around 9 Norwegian kroners, and 2 Mexican peso is worth 1 kroner.
