It is with a very heavy heart that I share that my dear friend Chester passed away peacefully at home on March 23, 2026, around 11:00 p.m., with his family by his side. Chester and I have been close friends since the 1980s, and he has been a steady, meaningful presence in my life for decades. Three years ago, he faced heart and kidney failure with incredible strength, continuing on with the support of his family, a pacemaker and dialysis three times a week. Recently as his condition worsened, and he made the decision to enter home hospice and stop dialysis. The doctors gave him about one to two weeks to live after stopping dialysis and he lived 12 days. He met the end of his life with courage and grace with his family surrounding him and he will be deeply missed and always remembered with love.
I’m raising funds to support Chester’s family during this incredibly difficult time and I know you graciously gave when he first got sick. But if you have any extra now, even a few dollars, it would be so helpful to his family. His wife, Yey, devoted herself full-time to caring for him and was unable to work, and now faces the loss of both her partner and her income. Their son, Jesse, is 20 years old and currently in college full-time. The funds will help cover medical expenses, end-of-life costs, and provide some financial stability as they navigate this profound loss. Any amount you can give would be deeply appreciated, and your support truly means so much to their family.
