Katryna’s Support for Chemo and Fertility Preservation

Hello family, friends, kind souls-

On October 1st, I woke up with severe stomach pain and nausea. I had been feeling very sick and tired for a month, but the morning of October 1st was the worst. After a long ER wait, pain and what seemed like a million test, I was diagnosed with lymphoma. I have a mass that’s putting pressure on my belly, and will have to start chemo soon. We will be doing a bone marrow soon, and a whole body scan. I am scared, but I am putting all my faith in God.

With all that, my fertility journey has had to be put on hold. My oncologist is suggesting we freeze my eggs before chemo, and pick up on the fertility journey after I kick cancer in the ass!

Its not easy for me to be this vulnerable, and I don’t normally put myself out there like this, but my family and I are asking for help to get through chemo, and all the financial burden this brings. I am scared, I am shocked- this has all come too fast. But I am also very hopeful.

Any financial help you can give my family and I while we navigate this will be greatly appreciated.

Update: 10/15/2024

Drs have confirmed that I have stage 3 lymphoma. I will have to begin chemotherapy immediately, but my oncologist is allowing two weeks for me to finish up some fertility treatments.

To say that I am scared is an understatement. But. My spirits are high! High because I am going to beat this. High because my heart so desperately wants to hold a baby of my own.

High because I was taught that we don’t give up when it gets hard!

I have to keep my spirits high because I still have so much to do. So much to love. So much to see.

Family, please continue to pray for me as my husband and I process this. As we embark this new way of living.
