My son was born at just 23 weeks and 5 days, facing a level four brain bleed and chronic lung disease. He spent his days in an incubator, needing oxygen support, and fought bravely against the odds. I was on maternity leave, but the stress and grief of caring for him in the hospital, along with my other children, led me to leave my job. Despite everything, my son held on longer than the doctors and nurses expected. Yesterday, after being told he would not be able to walk or talk, I made the heartbreaking decision to remove his oxygen tube. After two hours, he took his last breath. He is currently at Akron Children's Hospital, waiting to be transferred to a funeral home for cremation.
The funds raised will help cover the costs of transferring him to a funeral home and cremation, as well as support our family as we grieve and care for our other children. This is an incredibly difficult time for us, and any support will help our baby in heaven be laid to rest and assist our boys and family with finances while we navigate this loss.
We are deeply grateful for any kindness, support, or sharing of our fundraiser. Your help means so much to us as we honor our son's memory and try to find healing.
