Support for Chase Hartley’s Family After Accident

Donation protected
Chase Hartley, my cousin who I was raised with as a sister, is facing a challenging time after a devastating car accident that left him with 24 fractures and a long road to recovery. He was working as a Spark driver for Walmart to make ends meet, and while he does have car insurance, he does not have health insurance. Chase is now in the hospital for at least a month, and his fiancée Kasie is doing everything she can to hold their family together.

Kasie only works part time and is now supporting herself and their 5-year-old child, Devin, while also caring for Chase. The hospital is over an hour away, making transportation a daily challenge. On top of that, medical bills are piling up and child care is expensive. Our family is doing everything we can to help before Kasie gets in over her head, but we need support to make sure Kasie and Devin have what they need during this time.

All funds raised will go directly to Kasie to help with transportation to the hospital, child care for Devin, and daily expenses while Chase recovers. We want to protect Devin from the full weight of the situation, and every bit of support will make a real difference. Thank you from all the family for any help, big or small, during this difficult time.

Update he is getting his first major surgery of many to come to stabilize his Tibia and fibula on his lower left leg. They will also stabilize the broken bones in his face. There’s anywhere between 5-6 bones in the face alone. He did get a lot of massive lacerations on his forehead all the way to his cheekbone. The cut was down to the skull causing him to lose massive amounts of blood. This required plastic surgery to have to come in to help heal it. So far they’ve done an excellent job. All the prayers are so appreciated and truly working. We truly appreciate everyone taking the time to donate. He is expected to be off work for at least 2 months and that’s being generous. The great news is the ct came back good for the head and they are not worried about the head. He did fracture his t6 as well as his left arm and left shoulder. On top of that he broken almost all his ribs 4 on the left 5 on the right.

Second update
He is out of surgery in post op the anesthesiologist said it went well. Once we know more we will update again. He will stay on the ventilator after surgery because it was 9.5 hours. He will be sedated and kept comfortable. The hospital is taking great care of him. They are limiting any type of disruptions keeping him in a peaceful environment and that’s all we want as his family! Kasie has someone with her at all times we are making sure she is taken care of as well. Devin is with a trusted family member who is doing a great job at keeping her little mind off of how scary this is.
