On April 6, 2026, Charlotte Grace Martin was one of the students tragically killed in a car accident on her way to St. George Island for spring break. Charlotte was a junior at Horizon Christian Academy, where she played volleyball and was a cherished member of her team. She also played for her club, A5 Gwinnett. Charlotte was like a ray of sunshine, always smiling and always friendly. Her faith and kindness touched everyone who knew her, and her loss is deeply felt by her family, friends, and the entire community. In the midst of unimaginable pain, our hope and consolation is in knowing that Char is dancing with Jesus and we will get to see her again one day.
Charlotte’s family is now facing the unimaginable pain of losing their beloved daughter and sister. No parent should ever have to endure this kind of heartbreak or worry about how to cover these unexpected costs during such a difficult time. We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support that we have already received. Contributions will help the family navigate the immediate and ongoing impact of this loss, including travel, memorial arrangements, and the broader impact this loss has on the family during this time. Any funds beyond those needs will be directed towards causes that reflect Charlotte's life, faith, and the communities she cared about.
We are reaching out to our community for support. Any amount you can give will help take some of the burden off of Reneé and Josh as they navigate this tragedy. If you are unable to give, please keep their family in your prayers, including Grant and Caleb who have lost their big sister. Your kindness, generosity, and support mean more than words can express. Thank you for standing with Charlotte’s family and honoring her memory.
*UPDATE*
We raised the goal for this fundraiser because we are committed to sharing the story of these precious kids and making sure that their lives count for the kingdom of God. Our hope is to establish some sort of charity donation or scholarship in their name with any funds that aren't needed by the families. We are also planning a community celebration of life in their memory. We will update everyone on that as plans are made. The outpouring of love that we have experienced is unmatched and we can't thank you enough. Please continue praying for sweet Jamison's full recovery. This community has given these families hope and light in the midst of unspeakable heartache.
