Russell Lee Back December 29, 1967 - February 7, 2026 Russell Lee Back, age 58, of Mondovi, Wisconsin, unexpectedly lost his life in a semi-truck accident on February 7, 2026. Russell was born on December 29, 1967, in Hartford, Wisconsin, the son of Robert and Anita (née Tjoflat) Back. He grew up in Hustisford, Wisconsin, and graduated from Hustisford High School in 1986. Russell had a strong passion for farming and dedicated much of his life to working the land and raising livestock. In later years, he transitioned to a career in truck driving, which he enjoyed immensely. He took great pride in maintaining his equipment, making modifications, and fine-tuning every detail. In his spare time, Russell enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, cribbage, and playing his tabletop baseball game. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Charlotte (née Kolve) Back; his children, Allison (Shane) Westphal, Joshua, Grace, and Morgan Back, Erikka, Jazmin, Chloie, and Eli Thomas; and his grandchildren, Wyatt, Orion, and Silas Westphal, Jade Tollefson, and soon-to-be-born Levi Schmidt. He is also survived by his siblings Julie Braunschweig (Randy Paff), Janet Kunz, Karen (Jon) Cunningham, and his 8 nieces and nephews. Russell was preceded in death by his son, Rhett Back, and his father, Robert Back. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home in Hixton. Additional visitation will take place on Friday, February 20, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at New Hope Community Lutheran Church in Northfield. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m, with a church luncheon to follow. Burial will take place at 2:30 p.m. at Riverside Lutheran Cemetery in Mondovi, Wisconsin.
