On Christmas Eve, our family experienced an unimaginable tragedy. My sister Charlie, her fiancé Jeremy, and their two young children lost their home to a devastating house fire. Our other sister Johnnie also was living in the house and lost everything as well. In a matter of moments, everything they owned—clothes, furniture, toys, baby items, memories, and everyday necessities—was gone.
Thankfully, Charlie and the kids weren’t home, and Jeremy was able to make it out safely. We are incredibly grateful that no lives were lost. However, they are now facing the overwhelming reality of starting over from nothing. With two small children, the immediate needs are immense: clothing, diapers, food, shoes, beds, household items, and basic necessities that most of us take for granted.
This fire happened at the worst possible time—during the holidays—when their home should have been filled with warmth, comfort, and celebration. Instead, they are navigating shock, loss, and uncertainty while trying to stay strong for their children.
We are asking for help from our community, friends, and anyone who feels moved to support them during this incredibly difficult time.
