Charlie Young, my son, has always been a hard worker and a source of strength for our family. Recently, he was diagnosed with a very rare type of cancer called soft tissue Sarcoma, which makes up only about 1% of all cancers. This diagnosis has turned our world upside down. Charlie is currently undergoing treatment at the Phoenix Mayo Clinic, where he has been assigned a specialized team of seven doctors to help him fight this aggressive disease.

Despite the pain and the rapid growth of the tumor on the back of his thigh, Charlie continued working as an electrician for as long as he could. He pushed through every day, determined to support himself and not ask for help. It wasn’t until the tumor grew to the size of a cantaloupe about six weeks ago that he was forced to take medical leave from work. Now, with no income and mounting expenses, Charlie is facing a new challenge—how to cover his monthly living costs while he focuses on his recovery.

In addition to his monthly living expenses, Charlie has the added cost of driving from his home in Apache Jct to Phoenix five days a week for several weeks for radiation and immunotherapy treatment before scheduled surgery. These travel expenses are significant, but necessary for him to receive the care he needs. There is also the additional financial burden of medical co-payments that his insurance doesn't cover, adding to the stress of this already difficult time.

Charlie has always been proud and independent, never wanting to rely on others. He has managed his bills on his own until now, but the reality of his situation means he needs help.
