Support for Charles Family - After Unimaginable Loss

At just 23 years old, Jasmine has already walked a road marked by more hardship than most of us will ever face. Yet through every trial, she has remained caring, loving, and remarkably hard-working, an example of steadfast devotion to her family and to the values she was raised with. She is now facing the most immediate and overwhelming crisis of her life, a moment in which she urgently needs financial support simply to make it through this very tragic time. We invite you to continue reading to learn more about the incredibly challenging life this family has lived, with immense bravery and perseverance, and why they need help now more than ever before. If you prefer, you may also scroll to the bottom of this page to learn how you can support them.

This journey began when Jasmine was only seven. Her mother, Michelle, suffered a life-altering stroke that left her partially paralyzed. Despite her limitations, Michelle continued to raise her daughters with immense love and determination. When Michelle later passed away, her sister, Aunt Char, stepped in fully to care for the girls, becoming the steady and loving guardian who held the family together. Together, they built a life rooted in family, love, and perseverance.

Over the years, the girls worked tirelessly to stay on track with their education. Against all odds, both graduated from college - Joelle as a personal support worker and Jasmine, whose heart for service has always shone bright, recently earned her diploma and secured a role as a social worker, devoting her life to helping others in need.

But the weight of grief has followed this family relentlessly. This past year, their beloved dog Mickey, one of the last living connections to their mother, was tragically hit by a car and died. Additionally, both of their maternal grandparents also passed away. Then, heartbreak struck again when Aunt Char suffered a major stroke, leaving her half-paralyzed and dependent on the girls for her most basic daily care.
Still, Jasmine and her sister Joelle carried on together, determined to keep their family afloat.

Then, just ten days ago, the unthinkable happened.

Joelle collapsed suddenly at home from a medical hemorrhage she was unaware of and tragically passed away. Her death was unexpected and devastating beyond words. In an instant, Jasmine lost her sister, best friend, and partner in caring for the aunt they both love so deeply.

Now Jasmine is facing the enormous task of managing the household alone, supporting Aunt Char, navigating unexpected debts, working two jobs, and grieving the loss of the person who meant everything to her. She is doing all she can, but the financial and emotional burden is overwhelming.

Why We Are Asking for Help
Jasmine has always been a hard worker. Since high school, she has held steady jobs at McDonald’s and multiple part-time roles to help support the family’s rent, utilities, and day-to-day needs. But losing Joelle has created a financial crisis on top of unbearable grief.

Your support will help Jasmine:
  • Cover immediate living expenses
  • Manage unexpected debts
  • Support for Aunt Char, who cannot live independently
  • Maintain housing while they discern whether staying in their current home in Queensville is financially possible
  • Take time to grieve without the crushing fear of losing the only home they have left

This young woman has cared for others her entire life. She has given everything she has to keep her family together. Now, in this moment of profound loss, she needs her community to lift her up.

How You Can Make a Difference
If you are able to give, no matter the amount, your generosity will help ease a tremendous burden from Jasmine’s shoulders as she faces the most painful chapter of her life.

If you are unable to give, your prayers, sharing this message, and words of support will also mean a lot.

Thank you for taking the time to read their story.

Thank you for your compassion. And thank you for standing with Jasmine and Aunt Char during this devastating time.

May God bless you for your kindness.
