On September 6, 2024, Charity’s world changed forever when she was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). She faced a year of aggressive chemotherapy, multiple hospital stays, and major lifestyle changes, but her spirit remained unbreakable. When her cancer went into remission, Charity’s joy and energy lit up every room once again. She looked forward to visiting her granddaughter and reconnecting with beloved friends in December, but her plans were interrupted by devastating news. Despite a recent doctor’s visit showing no signs of cancer, routine bloodwork just days later revealed that her AML had returned with a vengeance. Her doctor had never seen such a rapid change. Charity’s focus, even in the face of this news, was on making sure she could see her baby girl in California and say her goodbyes to her granddaughter.
