For years, Chaplain Richard Nelson has stood beside veterans in their hardest moments. He has prayed with them, guided them, and reminded them they are not alone. He has quietly carried burdens that most people never see, asking for nothing in return.
Today, he and his wife are facing a challenge of their own. In their 80s, they are struggling financially and now their car has broken down, leaving them stranded and unable to get where they need to go. No one who has given this much should be left in a situation like this. This is about honor. It’s about taking care of someone who has taken care of so many others.
We (Rich's veteran community, church, and more) are gathering support from those who believe in helping good people to raise funds for Rich so he can have a reliable vehicle and support for basic needs. Every dollar helps restore not just transportation, but independence, dignity, and peace of mind. If he’s ever made a difference in your life or if you simply believe in doing the right thing, we ask you to stand with us now. Let’s get him back on the road. Let’s show him he’s not alone. He’s spent his life showing up for others. It’s our turn to show up for him.
This is a personal fundraiser organized by an individual, and all funds will be provided to Richard Nelson. Contributions are personal gifts and are not tax-deductible. The organizer does not control or direct how funds are ultimately used.
