Celica was tragically involved in a devastating rollover car accident in East Laredo that changed our family’s lives forever. She suffered severe brain injuries and underwent emergency surgery as doctors fought to save her life. Despite every effort, Celica never regained consciousness and remained in critical condition in the ICU at LMC. After speaking with her doctors, we were faced with an unimaginable reality — her body was simply too fragile to recover. With no response and her condition continuing to decline, we had to make the most painful decision a family can face. In honoring Celica’s wishes and the loving, selfless person she was, she gave the ultimate gift through organ donation. Celica’s Hero Walk was a sacred and heartbreaking moment. It reflected who she truly was — kind, generous, and always putting others before herself. Even in her final moments, she was thinking of others and saving lives.
