Three weeks ago, Cecilia’s mother was diagnosed with late-stage aggressive cancer and was swiftly succumbing to the disease. On Sunday, March 22, her beloved mother passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family.

In Cecilia’s words, “Some of you may have heard me speak about my mother in passing and should know that she was an incredible force of quiet strength. Determined, voracious, resourceful, and unwavering in her faith. She loved plants and had a natural talent for knowing what they needed. In many ways, I am a mirror of my mother, especially in temper, determination, wit, and loyalty. I will miss her dearly and hope to find some way to fill the chasm she’s left in my heart.”
