I'm Cat. I'm a wife, a mom, a PTO volunteer, a town commissioner, an interior designer, and an entrepreneur. And since October 2025, I've also been navigating cancer.

Here's what happened, plainly:

In October 2025, I was diagnosed with cervical cancer. In December, I had a total hysterectomy — which was expected to be curative. What followed has been described by my care team as very rare. My case doesn't fit the standard treatment pathways, and the pattern my tumor has followed occurs in roughly 1% or fewer of cases at this stage.

Because of that, my treatment requires specialized, evolving oversight. I'm currently receiving six rounds of chemotherapy every three weeks, alongside immunotherapy, managed locally through Hartford HealthCare — with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston available for additional review if my path shifts.

This is not a straightforward case. My care team is attentive, I am engaged, and we are moving forward — but the road is longer and less predictable than we first hoped.

Why I'm fundraising

This GoFundMe exists to keep our family stable while I'm in active treatment.

My doctors have encouraged me to keep working through chemotherapy. At the same time, my employer has not permitted me to return to my regular position, which has made our income unpredictable during an already uncertain time.

I am working. I've secured freelance design work supporting local designers and builders, and I'm preparing to sit for my NCIDQ licensing exam in October. But infusion weeks, recovery days, fatigue, and side effects mean my capacity varies — and the bills don't.

We do expect some income during this period, including a variable commission from a prior business sale and design work as my schedule allows. This fundraiser bridges the gap when timing and amounts are uncertain.

Every dollar goes directly to keeping our household stable during treatment — rent, groceries, utilities, transportation, insurance, and the treatment-related costs that come with a complex cancer case. We expect some income this month from a prior business commission, but timing is uncertain and it won't cover everything. This fundraiser bridges the gap.
