My name is Catherine, and I’ve spent years as a school bus driver, caring for my family and helping my grandchildren get to school safely. Recently, my life changed when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I’m currently in the middle of chemotherapy, with several sessions still ahead. The treatments are tough, but I’m holding on to my faith and the support of my family. My daughter sits with me during chemo, even though her own car is struggling, and my son helps with rides when he can. Both of them are doing their best, but work is uncertain for them, and I try to help with gas money from my limited income.

The financial strain has been overwhelming. My cancer insurance only paid a small portion of what was promised, and my disability payments are running out. I’m behind on bills, my car is still running but may not last much longer after years of use, and I’m waiting for approval to repair a large hole in the roof of my mobile home. Despite all this, I’m doing everything I can to keep my family together and support my grandchildren, one of whom has a heart condition.
