Our friend Catherine Barranco lost her husband David on July 6, 2026. David, a Sioux Falls City Councilman and self-employed attorney, passed away surrounded by his family at the age of 53 after a courageous battle with cancer. David had been the sole provider for the family but had been unable to work for the past 7 months due to his illness. His extended hospital stays along with end-of-life care have left significant medical bills.

Catherine now faces the challenge of raising their two sons, Christopher (14) and William (11), on her own while navigating these unexpected financial burdens. Catherine has always been a devoted wife, mother, and community member. She is now working hard to help her family through this difficult transition.
