My name is Eric Drummond, and I am a father writing this with a heart that is completely broken.
I have lost my son, Carter Drummond, just 13 years old, here in Atlanta, Georgia, due to gun violence. This pain is unimaginable, but what makes it even harder to put into words is that this is not the first time I have buried a son. No parent should ever have to endure this kind of loss once, let alone twice.
Carter was my baby. He was full of life, curiosity, and promise. At 13 years old, he was still learning who he was going to be, still dreaming, still growing. He had a smile that stayed with you and a presence that filled the room. He deserved the chance to grow up. He deserved a future.
Gun violence has taken that future from him—and it has shattered our family.
As I grieve the loss of my son, I am also facing the overwhelming reality of funeral and burial expenses. I never imagined I would be in this position again, asking for help to lay my child to rest.
I am humbly asking for support to help cover:
- Funeral and memorial services
- The costs that come with saying goodbye to my son
Any donation, no matter the amount, will help lift a portion of this burden and allow me and my family the space to grieve and honor Carter’s life. If you cannot donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser and keeping us in your prayers.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping me give my son the dignity and love he deserves in his final goodbye.
️ Rest in peace, my sweet boy, Carter. Daddy loves you forever.
