Carolyn, my aunt, was diagnosed with bone cancer in October of 2022 and again this year, and the disease spread to her femur, making her bones fragile. One day, as she turned while in the kitchen, her femur broke, causing her to fall and require emergency surgery. Doctors had to place a rod along her leg to help her heal and regain mobility. This sudden event has left Carolyn unable to work, and she now needs daily assistance as she recovers. My aunt Diana has stepped in to care for her, as well as my grandparents, who they both care for in their home. The financial strain has become overwhelming, with mounting bills, ongoing physical therapy, and the cost of everyday living expenses.
