Hi! My name is Kassy, and I have been lucky enough to work alongside Carolyn over the past couple of years. Carolyn is such a bubbly, joyful person - and brings a smile to so many faces.
I have not yet had the pleasure of getting to know Caryolyn's daughter, Becca - but everyone who has, speaks so incredibly highly of her. I can tell from the way that Carolyn's face lights up, that Becca is the absolute light in her life. Not only are they Mother & daughter; but also best friends.
Over the past 2 years, Becca has been suffering from misdiagnosed seizures. On top of this - she is also a Type 1 Diabetic. After many months of wondering and waiting, she finally received an MRI. In August of 2018, Becca was diagnosed with a brain cyst and epilepsy.
In the coming months (Nov 2018), Becca will need to receive an invasive 6+ hour surgery to remove the cyst. As you can imagine, this is a very terrifying and trying time in their lives. Although it must feel like their world is coming to a jolting stop - life must go on. This means paying for rent, bills, groceries and so on.
On top of paying for expensive diabetic and seizure medications - these two ladies must also consider the upcoming time off of work (with much uncertainty of how long). Although Carolyn is one of the hardest working single Mothers I know - nothing can prepare someone for something like this.
So -- I'm asking you to reach deep in your pockets, and make a donation to help ease their financial stress during this time. Whatever you can afford, big or small, will make a HUGE difference during this difficult time, and also the unknown road ahead.
Whatever funds are raised will help to cover the costs of medications, bills, groceries, and time off work. Hopefully this will provide a small safety net for Carolyn and Becca, before and after surgery - so they can focus solely on Becca's recovery.
