Support for Caro & Tim After Bear Incident
Donation protected
My name is Page and I am trying to help my dear traveling Belgian friends, Caro and Tim, get back to some semblance of comfort after a recent bear emergency in British Columbia.
A bear broke into their van home, destroyed the passenger seat, to the extent that it is no longer a place to sit, broke a door and rubber seals around doors, pulled down part of the ceiling and did quite a bit of other damage as well.
I will add some pictures to this posting.
I FaceTimed with Caro and Tim last night, and my heart broke to see the state of their home and to learn what a struggle they've been in, with some other big hardships and challenges even before this emergency.
They did not want to start a GoFundMe or reach out asking for help.
They didn't want to draw any attention to themselves by going public with their current woes. I understand that.
I am putting this out on their behalf, because I would love to see them get a little help to get through this. They are probably honestly the two purest souls I've met in my whole life.
I adore them and it hurts me to know they are struggling so much and unable to have what they need right now.
There are repairs to be made to make their van livable.
It's freezing cold up there and their whole van smalls like wet bear fur.
The bear got closed inside because the van door closed, and therefore had time to demolish a lot of stuff inside.
They thought there was a person inside the van at first, and called the police. They were scared, hearing all sorts of noise from outside, but not knowing who was in there.
They yelled out, "We are calling the police!"
When the police came, the bear made its way to the front, and was then visible through the windshield. Only then did they realize what the situation was.
The police scared the bear out, who went very quickly up a nearby tree.
And now, Caro and Tim have a van home that is a total wreck.
Even the smallest, little help would be enormously appreciated.
