Carmen, my beloved sister, suffered a stroke on January 29th that left her paralyzed on her right side. She spent several weeks in the hospital, fighting to recover, and was later transferred to Kindred for further rehabilitation. During her time there, she began to regain some movement and was able to speak again, showing signs of hope and progress. However, due to a tragic oversight, the nurses failed to secure a mitten on her hand, and she accidentally pulled out her tracheostomy tube. It is unknown how long she was left without oxygen, but a week after this incident, Carmen was pronounced brain dead and passed away.
Carmen was a donor, and through her generosity, she was able to help many families, which brings us comfort during this difficult time. We are now facing the challenge of covering funeral expenses and supporting the two children she left behind. Any donation, no matter the amount, will make a difference and help us honor Carmen's memory and provide for her kids.
We are deeply grateful for your support and kindness. Thank you for considering a donation to help our family during this heartbreaking time.
