My brother-in-law, Carl, and my sister, Heidi, are facing an unexpected and difficult season.

While traveling in Europe, Carl experienced a medical emergency that led to extensive testing and, ultimately, a diagnosis of leukemia. He has since returned home to Texas and is receiving treatment at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

As they focus on Carl's treatment and recovery, they are also dealing with the many challenges that come with a serious illness. Between medical appointments, travel, time away from work, and other unexpected expenses, the financial impact can quickly add up.

We created this GoFundMe to help ease some of that burden. Any contribution will go toward medical expenses, travel, lodging, and other costs related to Carl's care and recovery.
